And fuel if you ask an oil baron or a cabbie. That however is not the point.

Now, the religiously inclined would say that the world runs on faiths. Very true. Not in terms of religions and such things alone. But with faith in many a thing. Blind at times. Complete nevertheless.

Now, we breathe with faith in our lungs. Cross the road, with faith in our legs. Invest in volatile markets with faith in instincts. In short, all that we do, including having faith in the bus driver on a highway, is really all about faith.

Now, what would happen if you were to lose faith in all that's happening around you? I am not referring to the faith you have in your spouse, mechanic and such things. I am talking about losing faith, or beginning of doubt and therefore the birth of reason. No matter how convoluted it appears at first.

Simply put, go ahead, question all that's happening around you. Policy decisions, election results, cricket match results, FIFA World Cup performances, Bolckbusters, Religion, or anything that involves a following of people like sheep to a slaughter house. And what you have is a whole bunch of theories, but interestingly, points of view that actually would make the victor look like the vanquished. And vice versa.

So here I begin with my point of view about many a thing. Beginning with a done to death topic. But with the hope that you might find it sensible. Actually it isn't hope. But faith.

Goddanit. This could be true.

This is one of my favourite. This argument of mine is purely a set of questions.

Think about them all. Figure out the answers. And bingo! You could very well have your own theory. Now, I would not really call this a Make-Your-Own-Conspiracy-Theory-Template. But hey, even if it doesn't make sense now, you still can start a great debate at any public drinking house. Pub, if you please.

Yeah this one is about The Da Vinci Code.

Now, what was the overall revenue from sale of fiction books worldwide? How many books were sold? How many of them degenerated into Hollywood flicks? Fine. You have the numbers. Now, think about this. Here is a book that sold roughly 40 million copies. Spawned countless websites. And many books that either gave it a clean chit. Or screamed blasphemy.

This book also has gulped up hours and hours of television airtime. And it's during this time that advertisers ( a tribe I am related to) chose to sell their rosary beads or halloween costumes. And yes, you had a whole bunch of people who either visited places of worship, and therefore contributed money. Or sat over late at public drinking houses, pubs if you please, and spent enough and more beer debating it out. And therefore money on booze, cigarettes and fries discussing the good and bad parts of this movement that started as a book. Movement? Started by someone? Oh, it has to be Dan Brown, of course?

Well, think again. It need not be.

Why could it not be an industry, namely the book publishing chaps, and the insitution, not religion mind you, vindicated by the book? Why could they not have come together to make a quick buck? Why can't it be someone else? Anyone, for that matter. For at the end of it all, there were billions of dollars made.

Now, you go ahead, fit in the many pieces of this puzzle and it might all look so different.

So, to sum it up, it really can't be dandunnit. Over to you all.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://whydisbelieve.blogspot.com/2006/06/goddanit-this-could-be-true.html' title='Goddanit.
